METHUSELAH'S GIFT
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP & SUPPORT FOR METHUSELAH'S GIFT!
EP would like to thank all those who came out to see and support our recent musical Methuselah's Gift.
We would especially like to thank our host churches Peninsula Christian Fellowship, Templo Maranatha, Family Life Community Church, and Peninsula Lutheran Church. Your hospitality was wonderful and we hope to get the opportunity to work with you all again soon!
Be sure to get your copy of the book Methuselah's Gift by local author and EP's own Mary Elizabeth Edgren with illustrations by Kathryn Penk Koch. This classic children's book tells the captivating
tale is about a family of Christian raccoons who follow The Maker. They wear their masks on
their faces and not on their hearts!

HISTORY BEHIND METHUSELAH'S GIFT
The Evergreen Performers first performed Methuselah's Gift at Tacoma's First Congregational Church in July of 1994. Chaplain Jim Edgren was instrumental in forming our company at Ft Lewis (Evergreen Chapel -- hence our name) -- and he wrote and directed our largest production on post -- an outdoor Easter Pageant.
Jim's wife Mary Elizabeth after writing a musical of her book Methuselah's Gift -- asked us to produce it
in 1995. The first production was held in conjunction with the release of her second book, Methuselah's Heart. The raccoon casts have been delighted and blessed to be book promoters and attending
launches for these awesome books -- experiences they will long treasure.
Shortly after beginning our group -- they were transferred to the Pentaqon and lived in Alexandria, Virginia -- where the Methuselah books were first published. While in Washington DC, they even met the raccoons who had taken residence in the A Pentagon :) Ten years later they returned to Lakewood for their retirement and asked Sharon Cantrill to produce Methuselah's Gift as a musical . . .and the
rest is history.
